Migrant Kidnappings on Mexican Border

In the southern Mexican town of Tenosique near the Guatemalan border, activists have reported that dozens of Central American migrants have been kidnapped or else reported missing. Since July, activists in the town have reported at least three dozen more migrants have gone missing. The goal for the kidnappers, as it seems, is that they wish to establish a connection between the migrants and those that might exists in the U.S for the purpose of ransoming off the kidnapped.
